Rasa aka Rosebud: Rasa (aka Rosebud) is a former California racehorse. She had one win in four starts. Rasa was rescued from a life-threatening situation together with Bella Rose (an unregistered Thoroughbred) and they are deeply bonded. They both showed signs of starvation when they were rescued but they are now getting plenty to eat and some much needed TLC. We call her Rasa, short for Tabula Rasa, which means "clean slate", because she is now ready to start her new life. Please Contact Us to schedule an appointment to meet Rasa, or for more information. Black mare, 15.2hh, 11 years old, currently in rehab and training through WFLF's Safe Haven Network |

Meet Carmel: Saving America's Horses' Hero for Horses Ambassador Carmel is a Thoroughbred racehorse with a winning track record, but she, like 1000's of other Thoroughbreds in the U.S. was not provided protection, safety and welfare following the end of her career. Contribute to Carmel's feed and care |
Carmel was sold at auction for slaughter, but just before being shipped she was rescued by WFLF's Lifetime Equine Rescue. Although she was underweight and traumatized from the ordeal, she has made a full recovery. Thanks to the generous donations of supporters like you, WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge is able to provide Carmel with the assurance that she will never be at risk again. |
The monthly expenses for each rescue horse are approximately $400 for board, feed, bedding and supplements. This amount does not include veterinary or emergency medical care. If you would like to Sponsor a portion of Giselle's monthly expenses, please click on the donate button below |
